National Broadband products

Our National services allow us to offer broadband and phone services to the 50% of homes in the UK not covered by our cable network, providing them over the BT phone line. This means, you can still get great National Broadband and phone service but simply pay BT for your line rental.

And in typical Virgin style, we make it easy. There's no satellite dish, no installation engineer required and no wires around the house.

Want to give your broadband a boost? Depending on where you live, you can boost your broadband speed to up to 16Mb. It's free for the first 3 months, then just £5 a month on top of your existing package.

What the VAT reduction means for you

Following the reduction in VAT, we'll be changing the way some of our services are charged.

This means that, from 1st December, calls using your Virgin Media call package will be charged at the reduced VAT rate of 15% (instead of 17.5%).

We're working as fast as we can to reduce our other services, but until we can sort everything out at our end, all other services on your bill will continue to be charged at 17.5%. Don't worry though, we'll keep track of your bills and credit back the difference (from 1st December onwards) as soon as we can.

The legal stuff

Connection & set-up

A one-off £30 connection & set-up charge applies to all new National Broadband activations.

Minimum term

All new connections are subject to a 12 month minimum term.

Broadband speeds

Download speeds are dependent on a number of factors, such as the distance between your telephone exchange to your house and the line quality, so whilst your broadband speed can vary, National Broadband will always give you the maximum download speed available based on these factors.

Acceptable use policy

National Broadband offers unlimited downloads, which is great if you like to download music and movies or just don't want to worry about monthly allowances or caps. However, you need to know that we operate an Acceptable Use Policy which also enables us to manage our heaviest users' traffic during peak times. Wireless kit

The free wireless kit is subject to availability and is only available to new broadband customers and those existing broadband customers upgrading their broadband services. Only one wireless kit is available per customer.

Zero-rated tariff applies to the first hour of direct-dialled local and national geographic voice calls only (numbers beginning 01, 02 or 03) starting within the time periods indicated. You will be charged after that, see full rates for further details. Re-dial before the 60th minute to avoid call charges.
