All you need to know about the changes
Got a head full of questions about the changes? Then you've come to the right place. Find the answers fast.
When do the price changes happen?
All of the changes are happening from 1st July 2008.
How will the cost of Virgin Media services change?
Here's what's changing from 1st July:
- The way your call charges are calculated is going to change. Instead of charging to the nearest second, calls will be rounded up to the next minute. So for example, a call that lasts 4 minutes and 50 seconds will be rounded up to 5 minutes.
- If you make calls during the day to UK landlines (that's numbers starting 01, 02 and 03), they'll cost 4p a minute from the 1st July. However, if your call plan already includes daytime calls, this change won't affect you at all. You'll pay the same great monthly rate.
- Calls to UK landlines during the evening or outside your inclusive allowance at weekends will be charged 3.25p per minute (right now they cost 3p per minute). If your call plan already includes evening calls, this change won't affect you.
- Calls to other numbers (such as international numbers, 0845 numbers and mobiles) are also changing. They'll be charged at either daytime or evening rates, seven days a week. (There will no longer be a different weekend rates for these types of calls).
- Calls to 0845 numbers will be charged 6p per minute, no matter What time of the day you call.
- Calls to 3 Mobile will be charged at 26.99p per minute during the daytime and 19.99p per minute during the evening.
- Our international rates are also changing. For example, a daytime call to France will now cost 28p per minute.
- One more thing to mention is that the 6p connection charge for calls that you can be billed for is changing to 7p.
Of course, none of these price changes will affect calls that are included in your Talk plan.
