How do I back up my address book?


This section will show you how to make a backup copy of your address book.
  • Click on the 'Start' button:
  • Then go to 'Find' (or 'Search' in some versions of Windows) then click on 'Files or folders':
  • You will now see the box below.
  • In the Named field type *.wab and click on the 'Find Now' button:
  • Once your computer has finished searching, you should be presented with a box similar to below:
  • Now right click on the file that has been found and select copy as below:
  • You can now paste the file onto a floppy disk or a separate folder on your hard disk.
  • You need to keep the Find Files or Folders window open in order to paste the file. Closing this window will stop you from pasting it.
  • To paste it to a floppy disk, insert the disk and then click on the 'Start' button and choose 'Run...'
  • Now type a: and click on 'OK'.
  • Once you can see the a: window click once with the right hand mouse button, in an empty space.
  • Click once with the left hand mouse button on 'Paste', from the drop down menu.

Your address book has now been backed up.
