How do I check for new email?

This section will show you how to check for new email(s) using Outlook Express 6.
  • Open Outlook Express as you normally would.
  • Now click on the 'Send and Receive' button:
  • If you are not connected you will be prompted to do so.
  • Once you connect you should briefly see a dialog box similar to the following:
  • This will show you the progress of any email being downloaded.
  • If you receive any new emails you will see a number next to your inbox to show the amount of new email messages:
  • Click on 'Inbox'. Now on the right hand top pane you will see the new email message in bold type:
  • Selecting the email will now show the message body in the preview pane below:

You are now able to read the email that you have received.
