How do I create a new contact?
This section will show you how to add a new contact into your address book in Outlook Express 6.
You will need to begin from your computers desktop, the first screen you usually see when your computer has fully started.
Open Outlook Express using your desktop shortcut, or from the start menu.
You will see at the bottom, on the left hand side, a Contacts list.
If you are unable to see your Contacts pane, click on 'Layout...' in the View menu. You will see the Window Layout Properties box:
Make sure the box next to Contacts has a tick in it. Click OK.
Click on the word 'Contacts'.
Then click on 'New Contact':
You will then see the window below:
You will now need to fill in the information.
We recommend you enter a minimum of the first name, last name and the email address:
Once you have completed these fields click on the 'Add' button on the right hand side.
The email address is moved to the white box below, and is now in bold.
Click on the 'OK' button to save this contact:
Your new contact will now show in your 'Contacts' list:
To send an email to your contact, click twice with the left hand mouse button on the name of the contact:
The new email window will already have the email address in the box.
Type your message as normal, and click on the 'Send' button.
You have now added a contact to your address book.
